Here is a highly sought after mid-century plastic tabletop radio designed by the legendary industrial designer Raymond Loewy. It is a uniquely molded Plaskon or styrene cabinet. Great looking ivory (creamy) with a stylish gold front grille & Emerson badge. What a truly unique "tubular" dial & cover... only Emerson!! It has been completely restored checking all tubes, replacing all caps, etc. Plays great with good volume & clarity. The cabinet is near perfect with no breaks, scratches, repairs, touchups, etc. All original including knobs, dial, factory back, & factory tube layout tag on bottom + very clean, rust free chassis. The only imperfection is a shadow looking line on top back right side which in no way detracts, but is there. I have tried to show in pics, but just a slight blemish that appears to be a factory flaw if you will. I have pulled chassis just to verify not a break or repair. There are no repairs nor reproduction parts. It has been polished to a high luster much like factory. Definitely a show piece for most any Emerson, Deco, or MCM collector. Style, style, style! 9-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H x 6-1/2"D. $189.00. (1640401) |
