Philco 49-901 "Secretary" (1949)

Philco 49-901 "Secretary" (1949)
FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING!  Here is a one of a kind radio design! This Philco "Secretary" was meant to set under a desk, and the on/off, and volume could be adjusted by turning the "Kick Wheel" with your foot. By pressing the "Kick Wheel" you could scan through the six preset stations. As you did this, the pilot lamp on the front would change from green to orange to purple to white to blue to red to show you which of the preset stations you were on. Presets are adjusted by setscrews on the bottom of the radio. I've seen a couple dozen of these in my 40+ years of collecting. I've owned four, and this is the best. This set is in wonderful condition with no cracks or chips. There is some paint loss to the top right of the speaker to the left of the "Kick Wheel" for obvious reasons. The electrolytic capacitors and line cord were recently replaced by my Tech Friend Tom, and it plays well. 10-1/2"W x 9-1/2"D x 5-1/2"H.  $295.00. (1620012)
