In the 1920's and 1930's, Atwater Kent radios were known for their beautiful cabinets and performance, and this desirable "Quintessential Cathedral" is no exception. We refer this radio as that because many reproduction radios of today copied this design. As we have noted before on one of our Atwater Kent radios, they were known as the "Cadillac of Radios." This six-tube, three-band (SB, SWx2) features a three-point tone control and two-speed tuning. We replaced all of the capacitors with modern Mylar equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. A proper alignment ensures peak performance and years of listening. A safety fuse, new power cord and an audio input cable have been install. Gary has professionally refinished the cabinet in semi-gloss with toners and lacquer for a new "factory" finish. Gary said: "This is the cleanest, most original chassis and speaker that I have ever had for this model! The top needed to be refinished but the front is original (restored)". The chassis, knobs, speaker and grille cloth are original. This is an opportunity to own one of the best radio collecting has to offer. 19-1/2"H x 14"W x 10"D $995.00. (1600667)
