General Electric C485A Clock Radio

General Electric C485A Clock Radio
Here is a cool little General Electric clock radio. This is a very standard PC board based AA5 design. The unit performs 100% as it would have when brand new. Cosmetically, it cleaned up nicely. It does have a small portion of the front of its left "foot" chipped off. The radio sits on a table perfectly normally, and the chipped foot can be seen, but is not terribly apparent, especially if sitting on a surface lower than eye level. Still, due to the flaw, the radio is offered at a lower price than it would be otherwise. The radio has had a proper alignment performed after all required components were replaced. All of the tubes have been tested and any that were even marginal were replaced. The radio has excellent sensitivity due to proper alignment and due to having a nice large flat loop-style antenna in the back. There is no provision for an external antenna. This would make a great "starter" radio for someone wishing to get into the hobby of collecting and playing with vintage radios. It would also work well as a "daily driver," sitting on a nightstand and waking you up in the mornings as it was designed to do.  $50.00. (1530002)
