| This rather unique model was offered only in high-end jewelry stores and only in the year 1955. This clock radio is very well built, with point to point wiring on a thick stamped steel chassis. The cabinet is made of brushed brass, and the clock face is beveled glass. The radio and clock mechanism have both been fully restored electronically and mechanically. New rubber feet were installed on the bottom. The cabinet was cleaned with brass polish to gently remove oxidation without polishing away the brushed texture. This cabinet is not clear-coated, so like any brass exposed to air, it will discolor again with time. This is a unique clock radio with interesting history and construction. The cabinet is not perfect, but it looks good, and with more polishing, could be made to look new. Functionally, this is absolutely 100% operational. |
