This series of Bakelite cabinet 10-inch TVs by General Electric are nicknamed the "Locomotive" by TV collectors, and are some of the most sought-after sets due to their unique and attractive cabinet design. Unfortunately, many of these sets have been damaged over the years (especially the fragile Bakelite grillework for ventilation on the top of the cabinet). This one is in very nice condition, with no cracks or chips. The chassis has been fully restored to work like new, with all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced, a strong set of tubes, silicon rectifiers in place of the original seleniums, new resistors where needed, and a full video and audio alignment. The picture tube is excellent, with good brightness and contrast. I can advise you on suitable analog TV signal sources to use with antique TVs. Watching old black and white shows on a TV like this is a lot of fun--a recreation of the days when TV was brand new to the public. You probably have enough radios in your collection -- it's time for working antique TV! 14-3/4"H x 12"W x 20-1/4"D. $575.00. (1310232)
