The West German company Nordmende made wonderful portable radios that are collectors' favorites in Europe because of their quality, styling, and performance. This Transita G Sterling is an export version, so it has the full U.S. 88-108 MHz FM band, as well as AM and SW (1.5 - 3.5 MHz). The styling on this one is uniquely European with its round dial and handbag shape. The color is grey, with a shade of light green. All electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, and corrosion in the battery back has been repaired. The telescoping antenna was replaced at some point in the past, and extends to full length OK. Performance on all bands is excellent, and sound quality is much better than your average portable, since this radio has a 4-inch speaker. The white "button" on the right is a connection point for an external antenna. Add this nice European set to your collection, and don't be afraid to use it regularly. Relatively small and light, so shipping will be cheap. 9-1/2"W x 7"H x 4"D.
