Philco 16B Tombstone (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Philco 16B Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Quality and complexity of many radio manufacturers peaked in the 1935 era. The 16B was Philco's finest table top for several years, with a cabinet change and improved chassis for the 1935 year. This radio has to be heard to see what all the fuss is about. Noted collectors have called the 16B one of the best shortwave sets of its era. AM is incredible as well. With a frequency range of 550KC through 225MC, a precise shadow meter and two separate knobs for broad and fine tuning make this powerful set easy to tune in your favorite stations. Philco also added powerful 10 Watt push-pull output, bass-boost switch and a 10 inch speaker so what you tune in sounds more like a console than a table top. This complex set has received a full electrical restoration which included the replacement of all capacitors and any out of tolerance resistors. It then received a very precise alignment on all four bands. This radio plays like new and the sensitivity and selectivity are incredible. The cabinet has been refinished with attention to detail using correct toners, gold accents and finally a hand-rubbed final finish. A beautiful radio to listen to and admire!
