| Very popular Philco Transitone model, this is a "project" radio for the person who wants it to play well enough to listen to. For the beginner, it already looks good sitting on a shelf and with a little black trim touch-up you can enjoy the radio the way it is. The dial lamp lights, the five tubes all test good; however, the sound is garbled and will need attention to the filters/capacitors. The cabinet body is solid, the knobs are original, the handle is fine; there is a small patch on the top, the grille cloth is torn and the plastic dial lens cover is cracked. The last two items are readily available on the internet. A couple of years ago I sold one in this condition to a radio restorer in Chicago and after he performed his "magic," he sold it on Radio Attic for $425.00. Completely knocked my socks off! Here's your chance. 12"W x 8"H x 6"D. |
