THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! A ONE-DAY WONDER!

In 1939, RCA introduced a series of radios referred to as the "Little Nippers," which included sets which commemorated the New York World's Fair and the San Francisco Golden Gate Exposition. In the same series was this radio, the model 40X-53 "La Siesta," which was decorated in a Mexican or southwestern motif. The simply designed cabinet and geometric handle, with its bold grain patterns, was part of the rustic charm of this radio. The grain on the front and desert scenes have actually become part of its image. The Mexican worker under the sombrero is a separate piece of wood that was attached to the front of the case. The images were silk-screened, and not hand painted, as is often assumed. The knobs, handle and back are completely original. The RCA painted dial on every model of these radios I have seen had a very small chip or nick issues in the painted dial. This set had a couple of minuscule marks, but if you're like me, you like it to be perfect! So, I had Radio Daze produce a perfect replacement with no marks on it at all. I will enclose the original glass dial if you would like it. It's near perfect as is. The electronic restoration has also been completed at some point and this radio plays clearly, picking up all my local stations clearly with no problem. About 9"W x 6"H x 6"D. I will package this very well and I will ship and insure this RCA to anywhere in the USA for FREE! What a deal! You're not likely to find a better example.
