Philco G-681 "Scantenna" Portable (1959)
(plastic tube portable radio)

Philco G-681 "Scantenna" Portable (1959)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a pretty in pink Retro Philco portable Philco from 1959. It's their "Scantenna" with a ferrite rod in the handle which can be rotated for best reception. This was the only tube type portable Philco offered in their 1959 lineup. It uses four tubes plus a selenium rectifier, and can operate on AC or batteries. It plays fine on AC, but I have not tested on battery. The case has no chips, cracks or damage. The cord and handle are in good condition. A really cute little portable that was available in aqua, pink and red. About 10"W x 7-1/2"H x 3-1/2"D.
