Zenith 6G801 "Pop-Open" (1948)
(plastic tube portable radio)

Zenith 6G801 "Pop-Open" (1948)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is an exceptionally beautiful, like new Zenith portable. I cannot find another one like this one. It is called the "Pop-Open." To turn the radio on, you push the button on top, the front doors "pop-open" and the antenna "pops-up." It also has another antenna that you can place against a window with the suction cups and the extension wire for the antenna. This is absolutely a fantastically designed unit. It works on house power. The batteries are no longer available for these older portables. Superb reception on the AM band and with the five tubes. Fully restored electronically for reliable daily operation. All paper capacitors and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with high quality modern replacements. Tubes replaced as needed as well as any other defective parts. Please review my testimonials page to get a feel for the quality work I perform. Contact me for more photos of the interior. 14-1/4"W x 10-1/2"H x 6"D.
