Philco 37-60B (Early) Cathedral (1936-37)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Philco 37-60B (Early) Cathedral (1936-37)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a great looking and playing cathedral radio, ready for you to proudly display and listen to. A classic, the Philco 37-60 series uses a five-tube two-band (BC and 2.3-7.4 MHz) chassis. There are four models in the series with different cabinet styles. The early version of 37-60B is a cathedral with an arch-shaped profile (this one). The late version of 37-60B is a rectangular tombstone. The other two are floor models. The cabinet was restored using the finest toning and clear lacquers, resulting in a beautiful finish. The radio plays very well with just a short antenna. Tuning is indicated by a vertical line in the center of the dial scale, which I have tried to show in the pictures of the front. The electronics are restored and original except for some tubes and replaced capacitors and resistors under the chassis. The chassis looks as nice as the cabinet. Knobs, dial scale and grille cloth appear to be original. Aux (iPod, CD player, etc.) input can be added for $75. 90 day warranty applies. Weighs 19 pounds, 17"H x 13-1/2"W x 9"D.
