Zenith 5-R-312 "Beehive" (1939)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Zenith 5-R-312 "Beehive" (1939)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This vintage Zenith is in wonderful condition, no cracks, chips or scratches, but is missing back cover. A replica back cover is available for about $25. It has been electronically restored, cleaned and polished. The marbling of the Bakelite is very attractive and it plays loud and clear. The model number is missing from the bottom label, so I identified it based on collector books and the tube layout/schematic. I believe it to have original knobs and pushbuttons. The flash and dark cabinet make them look bright white, but they are ivory colored. This is the transformer operated model, preferable to the AC/DC version (6-D-312) that uses a ballast tube. This excellent Art Deco radio would look great in your collection! 12"W x 7"D x 8-1/2" H, ship weight 12 pounds.
