| This vintage DeWald is an impressive radio and heavy! It is identical to the DeWald AC-524 as shown in Stein Vol 2 page 100, except for the nameplate. It was probably a less expensive store-brand radio made by DeWald (like Zenith's Interocean brand). The chassis is the same as shown in Riders 2-4 for DeWald. The tube lineup is 3-224s, 245, 280 and TRF design. It has been electronically (filter caps and paper caps) and cosmetically restored. It works very well, Broadcast (550-1700 KC) band only. The finish is excellent and displays very well. Chassis pics are available, just ask. This impressive and rare radio would be a wonderful addition to any collection! Heavy so shipping weight is 34 pounds. 17-1/2"H x 13"W (at base) x 9-1/2"D. |
