Emerson AX-238 "Jewel Box" (1938)

Emerson AX-238 "Jewel Box" (1938)
SALE!  This vintage and quite rare "Jewel Box" radio was designed by Ingraham and has been electronically and cosmetically restored. It works very well, and covers the broadcast (540-1700 KC) band. The finish is nearly perfect (new clear and toned lacquers) and displays very well, showing off the wonderful grain pattern! The toned lacquer is darker than shows in the pics, due to the flash. All veneer is tight with no problems and you would be hard pressed to find a nicer example. The only fault I am aware of is that the on-off switch (uses a rod so it turns on when opened) was missing when I bought it, and has been replaced with a switch on the volume control. This very nice and rare radio would be a great addition to any collection! 10"W x 6"H x 8-1/2"D; shipping weight is 10 pounds.  Was $499.00, now $399.00.
