Gloritone 99A Cathedral (1931)
(x tube cathedral radio)

Gloritone 99A Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a nice medium size radio. It is AM broadcast only and has five tubes. It performs well, requires an external antenna. 10' to 20' of wire attached to the antenna terminal will receive local stations and many distant stations at night. The tone, sensitivity and selectivity are quite good; it has the efficient superheterodyne circuit that wasn't too common in some of its contemporary offerings. The cabinet has been refinished, has a few small flaws at the bottom of the sides. Please check the photos closely. It is not a rare receiver but neither is it common. The manufacturer is US Radio and Television. It has been repaired and all components checked for proper value. For those of you technically inclined, the paper capacitors are the unusual Sprague oval style and all (but one) checked good and were left in place due to their oddity. For anyone not comfortable with that I will replace all of them with modern ones if you desire. Feel free to ask for additional photos or information. 16"H x 14"W x 9"D. This is an excellent buy at only
