Airline radios sold!

Airline 74BR-1502B (1947)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Airline 74BR-1502B (1947)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a sporty restored Airline manufactured by Belmont Radios. It's an AM radio using five tubes and is quite small (midget). The case has absolutely no cracks but I decided to paint it a sporty color combination. Red and Satin Black instead of the Ivory White. The dial backing was also painted red to match and also makes it easier to see the dial which is originally not lit. The Red knobs are original but painted. This small radio uses a sliding iron core rod inside a coil for tuning instead of the usual tuning condenser. This allows for such a small radio to be designed. The only fallback is its very selective compared to a radio with a tuning condenser. Sensitivity is great. Has no builtin loop antenna so I supplied a length of wire of which performs well. Click on my Restoration Process for more information. Only 7-1/2"W x 7"H x 5"D.
