Zenith 5-R-216 "Cube" (1938)

Zenith 5-R-216 "Cube" (1938)
NEW!Here is a collector favorite. These extremely reliable models are compact in size and offer a dramatic level of performance. This particular model is a five-tube (All American Five) chassis that plays on the AM/Broadcast band only. Note the black dial, a highly lauded feature of the middle to late 1930's Zenith radios along with the iconic wood "Z" factory knobs. This example has been nicely refinished in an accurate manner. I would describe the color as red mahogany, with a fine lacquer finish. The work is good and the only issue showing age is a slight stress crack by the speaker grille on the left side. This is a common issue for a cabinet now 80+ years old. Les has completed his professional repairs and the radio plays in a terrific manner. Les added a mini-jack to allow your connection of any modern device. It also will accept a Bluetooth receiver available for $25 additional. A great performer in a modest sized radio! 12"W x 9-1/2"H x 10"D.  $499.00. (0961370)
All of our radios have preinstalled mini-jacks at no additional charge.  These are installed with no damage to the integrity of the radio or cabinet damage.  These will allow you to input to your old radio from any modern device.  These include phones, pad and computers.  I enjoy listening through my broadband connection.  My favorites are: pandora.com, iheart.com, and internet-radio.com.  The content is prerecorded, live FM, and shortwave and free.

NOW!  Bluetooth adaptors available with a simple add on.  The cost is $25.  Stream audio to your radio from any Bluetooth enabled device.  The range of these units is 25-30 feet.
