Philco 90C Cathedral (1933)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Philco 90C Cathedral (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Long recognized as the classic cathedral radio, the Philco 90 is a beauty. Designed by the famous Edward Combs, the "90" was the very top of the line. This nine-tube powerhouse is a tremendous super-het. The radio had the very latest technology, including automatic volume control, a dramatic improvement to earlier sets. The condition is very good considering it is 80 years old. It has all the factory-installed parts and reproduction speaker cloth. The cabinet is original with some elements of finish loss due to the age, yet acceptable. The dial is back lit by the dial light. The markings on the dial show clearly when the radio is on. Note how dramatic the book-matched veneers are highlighted on the front. Les has done a complete and perfect repair. The radio plays loud and clear with an excellent level of selectivity. Les also added a mini-jack, allowing you to attach an external device. This will allow you an unlimited choice of content. The radio has a fine silk reproduction replacement cord with a new Bakelite plug for your safe use. A "Grand Cathedral" at 19"H x 17"W x 12"D.
