Brunswick 12 (1932)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Brunswick 12 (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a highly unusual radio made by Brunswick Corp., the same as the factory which made high quality phonographs. The radio is a highly crafted and unusually shaped cabinet with a mixture of exotic veneers and decorated with repwood decoration and a highly ornamental grille. These are in great condition. The radio is a very fine playing broadcast band early super-het with a seven-tube chassis. The radio is highly sensitive and has a toggle on the right side for boosting the reception of more distant stations. The radio came to me with an older refinished cabinet, which is pretty nice. The speaker cloth is very ornate and in great condition behind the highly detailed grille. One other interesting note, the radio has a tone control which engages when you pull forward the volume control. I cannot remember ever seeing this feature before. The radio is built like a battleship, as the rear photo will display. My technician has done a complete repair and the radio is a genuine performer. He added the gold silk/cotton reproduction power cord and Bakelite plug to mirror the way it left the factory. 21"H x 17"W x 11"D.
