RCA 140 Tombstone (1934)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

RCA 140 Tombstone (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is one of the best receiving radios that has passed through my shop in a very long time. RCA owned all of the Armstrong patents and simply had a superior edge in the technology of this era. The radio is a monster, simply huge in size and with its super eight-tube super-het chassis is one of radio's best. The condition of the cabinet is spectacular, with the original finish in "like new" condition, the metal tags in place around the dials, and even the little spinner control on the tuning knob. The speaker cloth is a pristine original. Inside you have a multi-band receiver which is one of the best shortwave receivers I have ever tested. With a console size speaker and sized chassis, you are hard pressed to find a better playing tombstone. This radio is a real listening model. My technician has gone through the chassis with great care returning all bands to factory new condition. Adding a fresh power cord and plug and complete tuner alignment, this radio is a terrific playing radio. The radio is very heavy. 22"H x 15-1/2"W x 9"D.
