(wood tube cathedral radio)

Atwater Kent 80 Cathedral (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

If you have seen any of the other A-K's that I have for sale, you know how much I appreciate these sets. There was no better manufacturer of radios in this era, in my opinion. They simply insisted on making the most electronically sophisticated radios in the finest of cabinets. This is a prime example of this early super-het. The radio is all original in finish and with all factory installed parts. I believe this is the nicest example of this model that I have ever offered for sale. The chassis is almost pristine in condition and certainly exceptional for its almost eighty years. My technician has professionally rebuilt all elements of the chassis, including replacing all of the filters and caps. The tuner has been aligned and every other component been tested for factory fresh values. He has replaced the factory cord and plug with the finest of reproductions, so you can play the radio with complete safety. The radio is in the "Grand Cathedral" era and measures a majestic 18-1/2"H x 14-3/4"W x 11"D.
