Philco 90 Cathedral (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Philco 90 Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is the famed and most sought after "Grand Cathedral," designed by Edward Combs, and considered one the most beautiful ever made. These were top of the line nine-tube super-hets, and were the finest and latest in technology. This particular example is the most desired of the three models made. Even more important is the all original and nearly blemish free cabinet, making this particular set, the nicest I have ever offered. This particular model has the automatic volume control in a toggle on the back of the chassis. The more important element is this is the model with a pair of powerful #45 output tubes and a "push-pull" circuit. Although the model A is a pricier radio, it is the best performer and is my choice to own. The set has been completely refurbished. All of the paper filters and caps replaced with state of the art brand new components. The tuner has been aligned for accuracy, and the cord and plug replaced with accurate reproductions. If you want a great set to listen to, this nine-tube beauty is the radio to own. Very collectible! 18-1/2"H x 17-1/4"W x 12"D.
