Detrola 302 Clock Radio (1938)

Detrola 302 Clock Radio (1938)
Here is a very desirable and fully functioning Detrola clock radio with a unique teardrop and footed design that is deceptive in size, measuring only 10"W x 9-1/2"H x 4"D. The wooden case is striking with the matched veneer on the front and attractive wood grain on the top and sides. It's in beautiful cosmetic condition not often found with no chips, digs nor missing veneer. The horizontal marquetry strip on the front is excellent, tight and complete while the dial face, pointer and dial cover are in great shape, grille cloth tight with no fraying, bullet knobs are original to the set and the bottom label is mostly intact. The radio's been serviced and is playing with good sound and station selection. The AM is directional but there is an antenna attached that can be unwound for reception no matter what angle the radio is. The clock is also running smoothly and accurately and will work without the radio being turned on. There is a switch on the back that was used to run the clock with either it plugged into an outlet or directly on battery current, but has been disabled since DC is obsolete. The clock can be set with a recessed knob that is hard to reach; if you intend to run it all the time it might be best to plug it in when the time displayed is the actual current time.  $435.00.
