| An anomaly for sure! The Philco's case is brown Bakelite, of course, but it's brand new! I've had this empty case for years and years. The man I bought it from got it from a production line person at the Philco factory back in the day. It was never, ever assembled. So, I completed the job with an electronically reconditioned, loop antenna replacement, tuned and aligned a 46-200 chassis. Plays great, as Philcos do! The tubes are strong, dial cover is original, it has a new cord and a new laser cut back, something it was deprived of in 1946! I have to rewrite the guidelines for Jim Dennis' "Scale of Beauty" because this beauty is NEW! If you'd like additional pics please let me know. |
