This is beautiful Green Emerson Vanguard 888 AM radio built in 1958. I worked on 1930's and 40's Emerson radios and they were well built with beautiful Ingraham cabinets. Most were easy to restore. This cabinet is spectacular and pretty. For its size which is a little bigger than most pocket radios of that time. It components are at least five times as big as any other small radio I have seen and the case is built much thicker. Therefore it is a stronger case and is supposed to never break. No cracks or missing pieces. It has eight transistors, five new electrolyte and one wax capacitor replacement. This radio uses four "AA" batteries. 6-1/2"H x 4"W x 1-3/4"D.
