Terms and Conditions
for Glenn's Radio Attic
General Usage
Antique radios can be up to 85 years old and require careful handling.
They are not as static free or rugged as their modern transistor relatives, and
take time for the tubes to power up. They run on high voltages that may
present a shock hazard if handled carelessly. Please do not work on these
yourself.
To receive signals, you'll need an antenna. Some have a built in AM antenna, but you will need a 25 to 75-ft long wire connected to the back of the radio where it says ANT (antenna) to pick-up shortwave signals. Connecting a ground wire to earth-ground at the GND terminal in the back may reduce static on some radios. Isolate the radio from devices that cause static such as dimmer switches, computer monitors, fluorescent lights and microwave ovens. It is best not to leave your radio on for long periods of time or leave it unattended. These radios were not made to run non-stop like transistor radios; they can overheat.
Sales and Payment
We will hold a radio for five days when we receive the first email with an offer
to buy. I consider an offer to buy in your email the point of sale.
If full payment is not received within the five day period I consider the sale
void, and the radio will be available for sale again. We prefer payment
through PayPal, although you may discuss other methods of payment with us, such
as personal check (must clear prior to shipping), money orders or bank cashier
checks. If you pick up locally or we deliver, then cash is of course,
accepted.
Warranty
We value your business and do not want you to be disappointed in any way.
We provide as much information as possible about each radio. Clear
photographs show its condition, including any flaws. We are happy to
discuss any questions you have about a radio prior to purchase. Some
radios will also have audio and video samples via YouTube.
All the work we do on our radios carries a 30 day warranty from the date of receipt. If the radio fails to perform, please contact me and we will work together to solve the problem. For instance, a tube or connection might be jostled loose during shipment.
The warranty covers our shop labor and the NEW parts we install (replaced caps, electrolytics and cords, for instance). We do not guarantee USED parts because the radios are 60-85 years old and there is no way to tell when an old part will give out. For example, used tubes which last for decades, can fail at any time.
Returns
We will not accept a radio for return without communication. If the radio
fails within the 30 day warranty, it must be returned in "as sold" condition.
All returns are at your expense (packing, shipping) and the radio must be
insured at its purchase price.

packing materials, for inspection.

We'd be honored to have you as a repeat customer. To that end, we will
