Gary Fletcher's Radio Attic

the Radio Attic

P.O. Box 986

I sell mainly original, untouched radios.  Occasionally I will have one serviced by a local pro, but I never refinish or repaint the cabinet or substitute knobs/dials/etc.  I pack extremely carefully, with emphasis on stability, while using the lightest packing materials to save on postage.  I usually have extra pictures and will gladly send them to you; just e-mail me by clicking on my name link above.

I accept PayPal, cashier's checks, money orders & personal checks (must clear first).
Shipping is not included in prices; buyer pays shipping.
I encourage shipping insurance.  I do not normally charge "handling/packing" fees.

Majestic 5A410

ON SALE

Majestic 5A410
Nicknamed the "Zephyr," this unusual late 30's AM radio works very well with good volume and selectivity. The reverse painted dial is perfect, the case has no cracks, chips or any damage and the full back is present. The dial light illuminates the whole face nicely. The original knobs have no damage and function as they should. Add $17.00 for postage/insurance in lower 48 states.  Was $95.00, now $75.00. (0091083)

Emerson 185

Emerson 185
For the discriminating collector, offered is an all original Emerson Ingraham, one of the larger radios by Ingraham (19"W x 11-1/2"H). You would be only the third owner of this gem, nicknamed the "Asymmetrical." I have had it serviced and the radio works well on the AM band with a very short antenna; the SW is there but requires a longer wire for reception. Absolutely original, the metal bezel & dial plastic are excellent, the dial is perhaps the nicest Emerson made and is superb, the long pointer straight. Emerson decal and lettering under knobs show very well, Ingraham tag is on the back, red pin-striping around the front is complete. The case has a few age marks and tiny nicks here and there, but it's proof of the original finish. Add $50.00 for postage/insurance anywhere in lower 48 states.  $650.00. (0091079)

Silvertone 6166 (1939)

Silvertone 6166 (1939)
Stunning ivory Plaskon midget (6-1/4"W x 4-3/4"H) that is original and untouched. There are no cracks or chips in the case, just a faint 1/4" line at upper left of the on/off knob that can't even be felt. The red plastic knobs, prone to significant warping and cracking, are very nice with only a slight warping on the tuning dial. 100% complete label on bottom, almost full back, original resister cord, antenna and even the tubes are the Silvertone brand. Non-operating but complete and just dusty. Add $15.00 for postage/insurance anywhere in lower 48 states.  $280.00. (0091078)

Emerson CF-255

Emerson CF-255
A real cute machine age design and true midget at 6-1/2"W x 4-3/4"H, this black Emersonette is the pre-war version. The case is a mottled/swirling Bakelite with no cracks or chips, just some light wear with a few tiny flea-bite nicks on the back edge. Knobs are original, lettering on the logo and numbering on the dial face crisp and clear, tuning dial moves smoothly. It is non-operating but the chassis is clean & complete with working dial light & tubes light up, original resistor cord & antenna are in good shape. Add $13.75 for postage/insurance anywhere in lower 48 states.  $130.00. (0091077)

Emerson 367 (1941)

ON SALE

Emerson 367 (1941)
An intricate graceful cabinet and beautiful piano finish highlight this Ingraham table set. The original finish has some scratches and dings, mostly notably on top right, but the Ingraham craftsmen did such a great job I could not touch it. The case is sound, it the Ingraham tag and four felt feet on bottom. Radio works with a hum, the dial lights up, knobs and pointer turn smoothly. Dial face and cover are in excellent condition and the horizontal inlay is perfect. Clean, rust free chassis. Another desirable and high end radio for your collection.  Was $425.00, now $350.00. RCA Victor 9X6 (1939)

RCA Victor 9X6 (1939)
From my personal collection, this scarce midget is all original and in superb condition. Wood case is sound, finish is untouched, beautiful matched veneer top, decal and black trim paint are excellent with an infinitesimally tiny missing piece of veneer on lower left front, even the Masonite back & complete bottom label are present. Uses the same chassis, metal bezel and knobs as the higher end RCA Catalins. Grille cloth flawless, the celluloid dial is perfect, lights up but just hums; was serviced and worked perfectly when acquired 15 years ago (evidenced by white cord), has long antenna. Can have the clean & rust-free chassis brought up to snuff for $40 more. Definitely for the discerning collector, I have never found a nicer example. Add $22.00 shipping/insurance to lower 48 states. 7-1/2"W x 5-1/2"H.  $275.00. (0091071)

Gilfillan Cathedral

Gilfillan Cathedral
Here's a cute midget: a very scarce shelf-sized radio from Los Angeles maker Gilfillan. It's under 12 inches tall, the case is sound with nicks and scratches, has the original arch support in the back and the front cutout grille is in excellent condition. The grille cloth and knobs are original. The dial is in excellent condition and turns smoothly. The lower right knob is on/volume and I believe the lower left is for tone control. The chassis is very clean, has been serviced and works well, but the original Lansing speaker will need reconing as it distorts. This exact same model but with a missing bezel sold for $800 this June in Anaheim; see RMAuctions.com web site.  $280.00. (0091053)

Ralston Purina Chuck Wagon

Ralston Purina Chuck Wagon
A very scarce novelty radio made to promote the Chuck Wagon dog food brand by Ralston Purina and it works. Even harder to find in this superb condition, as the light cloth tops were prone to fraying, tearing and staining. A well articulated plastic AM radio, with the barrels serving as on/off/volume and tuning. Even has the little lantern on the back, which is often missing. No cracks, chips or missing pieces. The back swings up to allow replacement of 9-volt battery (not included). It's about 8"W x 6"H.  $70.00. (0091028)
