Mitsubishi 6X-145
Nice blue and white Mitsubishi with the popular reverse painted dial. This attractive set is petite, making it one of the earliest mini shirt pockets to come out of Japan. It is working nicely on a common 9 volt battery. This model is very hard to find without blemishes, and this one is no exception as it has a tight hairline at the top left corner of the face. Only 2-1/2"W x 3-1/2"H.

This little eight transistor portable from Admiral is a real looker. It plays well on four AA batteries. The tuner is large and easy to operate as you zero in on those tough stations. The cabinet is a beautiful Teal color that I have not seen this model in before. Very compact in size at 5-1/2"W x 3-1/2"H.

Zenith Royal 84
Here is a unique transistor portable from Zenith's Asian operations. I am not sure when this was made, but what I do know is how impressive the performance is. Here are some of the features of this fine radio. Three bands: AM/FM/PSB. Its big speaker has tone control with a wide range making any broadcast sound fantastic. The public service band picks up a half dozen stations here in Minnesota, more at night. It has a lighted dial, a station strength indicator, telescoping antenna that folds away when not in use. It gets its power from six "C" batteries and will also work off of AC current, but I don't have the cord. Very compact at only 9-1/2"W and it has a strong metal handle. You will be pleased.

Zenith Royal 500 (1956)
This is a beautiful seven transistor "Owl" in deep maroon color. The condition and performance of this radio are sure to please your most critical eye and ear. Something about the bright gold metal trim against the dark maroon finish makes this a real eye catcher. This 7ZT40 chassis has been electronically restored and aligned so it is once again playing as new. The leather case is as clean as I have seen, and comes with a strong leather shoulder strap.

Here is one of Zenith's first shirt pocket sized transistor radios. This little powerhouse is only 4-1/4"H x 2-1/2"W x 1-1/4"D and it produces a big sound for such a small package. It has a big tuning dial for easy operation and it plays for hours and hours on two common AA batteries. No chips or cracks, but the earphone jack does not work.

Hoffman RP-706 Solar Radio (1959)
Talk about being way ahead of their time, Hoffman Electronics Corp. in Los Angeles, California introduced the world's first sun powered transistor radios in 1959, and here is their most popular model. This bright red with gold grille model did not work for me when tested in the sun as the solar panel looks melted, but it does still play very strong (and without static) when 4 volts of battery power is applied. The cosmetic condition is outstanding inside and out as it is clean down to the very last detail. All labels inside are clean: Model RP 706, battery Mallory TR233R or equivalent, Serial #048679, Union Made. The battery door is perfect with the latch working fine. Excellent example of this rare radio.
