Radiola 511 (1940)

NEW!

Radiola 511 (1940)

No, this is not a hen's tooth, but it is an original ivory Bakelite Radiola that could be confused with a hen's tooth because they both are so scarce! Whew, I wasn't sure I would be able to get that all in one sentence! Seriously, this Radio-ooh-la-la is in outstanding original condition and it plays beautifully! Electronically reconditioned and aligned. Old paper capacitors were replaced with new capacitors including electrolytics. And, all out of tolerance resistors were replaced. The five tubes are very strong and it has a new back. External antenna connection for greater sensitivity. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "In Short Supply Special." If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 9-1/2"W x 7"H x 5-3/4"D.  $225.00. (0510531)

Philco PT-25 (1940)

Philco PT-25 (1940)

If you like old movies like me and watch TCM regularly you'll find this little Philco as a prop in almost as many movies as Ginger Rogers! And, like Ginger, this little brown Bakelite Philco is a real peach! It has been electronically reconditioned and aligned. The old paper capacitors including the electrolytic capacitor have been replaced. The same can be said about all out of tolerance resistors. I also added a new power cord and a new back. This little guy plays well with a hank of antenna wire that is included. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Extra Special-Extra! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 8-1/2"W x 5-1/4"H x 4"D.  $190.00. (0510530)

It has the original power cord, too. There's an external antenna connection on the bottom that just might get you a warm beach station to the South at night! A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Dreamer's Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $225.00. (0510529)

This Westinghouse sports all the gadgets; a timer for coffee in the morning, a snooze alarm in case you like your coffee lukewarm. In other words, all the functions work as they should. Motorola 55X11-A (1946)

Although not included in the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Darth Vader lives on in this beautiful brown swirled Bakelite Motorola! Now, I ask 'ya, "Doesn't this Motorola look like Darth Vader's helmet?" Or, is it just me? Please, don't answer that! Anyway, here is a rejuvenated 55X11 that has been electronically reconditioned, aligned with new capacitors and all outta whack resistors replaced. A new power cord has been added. RCA 66X12 (1947)

RCA 66X12 (1947)

What does this dreamy ivory Bakelite RCA have in common with Betty Grable? Give up? They're from the forties; they're both beautiful and, they're pin-up worthy! Can I get an Amen! The one thing this RCA has over Betty is: it's been electronically reconditioned, aligned with all old paper capacitors, electrolytics and out of tolerance resistors replaced (Betty never was!)! Meanwhile, the six tubes are strong and a new power cord has been added. There is an external antenna for greater station sensitivity. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Fabulous Forties Special! General Electric 150 Portable (1949)

General Electric 150 Portable (1949)

I can hear ol' Eli Wallach call out; "Hey, Blondie" for Clint Eastwood in the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. I can also hear "Tuco"(Eli) call this beautiful GE... Blondie, too! Like the movie there are a few scratches and such, but by and large and, considering its delicate blonde nature, it has survived in glorious fashion! Electronically reconditioned, aligned with all old paper capacitors, electrolytics and all out of tolerance resistors replaced! The five tubes are strong with tube layout inside. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Debbie Harry "Blondie" Special! If you'd like to see additional pictures please let me know.  $155.00. (0510524)

Wells Gardner Series 11A (1938)

Wells Gardner Series 11A (1938)

This small heavily swirled brown Bakelite radio is a Wells Gardner "Arcadia" model. The Arcadia label was rubbed off many, many years ago. What remains on the front way down near the bottom is the embossed: "Made in the United States of America." I like the sound of that! Wells Gardner made some incredible radios through the years but mostly for retailers. This Arcadia, however, is one of their cherished babies they kept in their own stable. Electronically reconditioned, aligned with all old paper capacitors, electrolytics and out of tolerance resistors replaced. For maximum station sensitivity it's recommended to use additional wire attached to the existing factory external antenna. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Collector's Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 9-1/2"W x 7-1/2"H x 5-1/4"D.  $220.00. (0510523)

Olympic LP-213 (1947)

Olympic LP-213 (1947)

And, in this corner, wearing a very dark brown Bakelite swirled case, an AM/SW with a 6-1/2" speaker and weighing in at 12 pounds, the Los Angeles "Polyurethane-Finish Kid." The crowd erupts as you might expect because they've never seen this model Olympic radio before, let alone in a Polyurethane finish! This bad boy had, that is, had - two cracks; one on the left side and one on the bottom. Both have been repaired and the case polyurethane'd in a technique I've never seen before! The radio case is stronger now than the original! Electronically reconditioned, aligned with all old paper capacitors, electrolytics and all out of tolerance resistors replaced! The six tubes are strong with a new power cord added. The tube layout is on the inside of the case. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Bronx Bomber Special! Philco KR3 (1942)

Philco KR3 (1942)

No mom, I didn't do it! Paint the lil' white wood Philco you have on top of the Philco refrigerator! It sure is nice and who ever did paint it did it many, many years ago 'cause we've had it a long time! Ya'll know the story about how these Philcos were used for promotional purposes-if-you bought a Philco Refrigerator. Back when they stopped calling them "iceboxes!" This little cutie is contoured on the bottom to fit that old time Philco "coolerator!" Borrowed that term from a Chuck Berry song! Yes, it has been electronically reconditioned, aligned with all old paper capacitors, electrolytics and out of tolerance resistors replaced! A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" You Never Can Tell Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 11"W x 6-1/2"H x 6"D.  $220.00. (0510518)

Farnsworth ET-060 (1946)

Farnsworth ET-060 (1946)

Hometown pride shines from every angle of this gorgeous brown and sand AM/SW Bakelite Farnsworth! Yep, Ft. Wayne, IN is where this fair haired beauty hails from just down the street from ol' Jim. Although, I must admit, I was on the street first. Plays nicely and the S/W, of course, is foreign gibberish. Electronically restored, aligned with paper and electrolytics replaced and, all out of tolerance resistors, too. It has a brand new power cord and external antenna for greater station sensitivity. The six tubes are strong! A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Ft. Wayne Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $280.00. (0510517)

Artone 1046U (1948)

Artone 1046U (1948)

In my humble opinion, this classic chocolaty brown swirled Bakelite design from Artone reminds me of a Studebaker Champion from the same year! Back then I'd never think "the look" of both would endure to 2015 and beyond! The folks (incl. my dad @Study) that assembled these babies had no idea they'd be listened to and driven almost 70 years down the road! This Artone beauty has been electronically reconditioned, aligned, all paper capacitors and electrolytics and out of tolerance resistors replaced. The tube layout is in fine shape on the inside case and the five tubes are in strong shape! With an external antenna for added sensitivity. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" A Champion's Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $210.00. (0510516)

Crosley 56PA Portable (1946)

Crosley 56PA Portable (1946)

A very shiny almost indestructible Bakelite ebony and ivory AC/DC (portable and/or plug into the wall) Crosley. I love this model because the quality and workmanship speaks volumes of what made this county "special" in manufacturing. I touched up a few of the very small bites on the ivory front panel. This Crosley has been electronically reconditioned and aligned; with paper and electrolytic capacitors and out of tolerance resistors replaced. The tube layout is on the inside of the case and the tubes are strong. It has an external antenna connection on the bottom that is very effective! A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Rosie the Riveter Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $225.00. (0510514)

Philco 51-932

Philco 51-932

There are probably worse fates than being marooned on some tropical island with a gorgeous, smooth dark maroon(ed) Bakelite Sun Dial Philco. As long as there was electricity, of course! How can two words like maroon be spelled the same yet so different? Electronically reconditioned and aligned with new paper capacitors and electrolytics added. While all out of tolerance resistors are marooned in the trash can. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Gilligan's Island Special!" If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $250.00. (0510510)

RCA 66X1 (1946)

RCA 66X1 (1946)

Electronically reconditioned and aligned with new paper capacitors and electrolytics. Out of whack resistors were replaced. And, I've added a new power cord! There is an external antenna for greater station sensitivity and it has a phono jack. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Captivator Special!" If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $285.00. (0510509)

Emerson 547A (1947)

Emerson 547A (1947)

From '47 comes an early itty-bitty-teeny-weenie chocolate brown (bikini) I mean, Bakelite Emerson. No, it ain't a midget, but not too much larger than the one Emerson introduced the same year! They both share the same five tube complement under the hood. It plays real good and has an external antenna for extra station sensitivity! It's just as shiny as the dickens! It has been electronically reconditioned, aligned with all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced along with quite a few outta whack resistors. The five tubes are good! A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Beach Party Bingo Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 8-1/2"W x 5-1/2"H x 5-1/4"D.  $175.00. (0510499)

Federal 1040TB (1947)

Federal 1040TB (1947)

Love this Federal! I have had a few versions of this particular model over the years. This one is the brown swirled Bakelite Federal from '47. Kind of a "twin" to the Philcos of that era. Similar case design and just as durable and reliable! Original power cord, dial face and plastic dial cover! Electronically reconditioned, aligned with paper capacitors and out of tolerance resistors replaces. It plays well! The five tubes are strong! A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Arnie Schwarzenegger - Danny DeVito Twin Special!" If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $165.00. (0510492)

Dumont RA346 Clock Radio (1956)

For those with an eclectic flare in radios I have the absolute livin' end! From '56 and the mad scientists at DuMont Labs - less the tail fins - comes this clock radio that demands attention and probably gets it most of the time! Gingerbread works, too! It plays really good as does the clock. The functions work smoothly! Electronically reconditioned, aligned with out of tolerance resistors replaced. The five tubes are strong and the tube layout what's left of it is on the bottom. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Daddy-OH" Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $175.00. (0510490)

Truetone D-3465 Portable (1954)

Truetone D-3465 Portable (1954)

Call me crazy, but I've made a concentrated effort of late to prepare mostly portable-type radios. You know, summer, beach, warm weather, etc.! Purpose: Run off the evil demons of winter! This beautiful faux leather Truetone is working...literally and figuratively! It's over 60 degrees, the sun is out and this portable is ready for summer! Electronically reconditioned, aligned with resistors checked for tolerance. All five tubes are strong. Plays like a champ! A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Where's Frankie Avalon Special." If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 11-1/2"W x 9-1/2"H x 5-1/2"D.  $155.00. (0510470)

Motorola 52X-13U (1952)

Motorola 52X-13U (1952)

Call this Motorola maroon or call it burgundy either way you'll be correct! It's certainly in the red family for sure. You don't see model and color very often! A little wear up there on the very top left side corner, but like I say, "It adds character!" It has been electronically reconditioned, aligned and resistors checked for tolerance. A new power cord has been added, too. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Simply Red Special!" It's as good as his music! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 12-3/4"W x 6-1/4"H x 6-1/2"D.  $180.00. (0510469)

Arvin 444AM (1947)

Arvin 444AM (1947)

What we have here is somewhat of an anomaly. First off, it's in great condition! It's an original factory paint four-tube white metal Arvin Midget! Yeah, a 444AM (duh?) and, it has the small/miniature tubes that do the same thing those big'uns do 'cept they're smaller! It has a 20' hank of antenna and it plays lover-lee! Electronically reconditioned, aligned and gone over with a fine tooth comb! The tube layout is in great shape on the bottom! Yes sir, it's a Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "AM Special." Yeah, for AM! This factory painted ivory Silvertone is in a metal case, of course, and has withstood the test of time quite nicely! Electronically reconditioned with the four tubes testing strong.
