Coronado 15RA38-43-8236A Clock Radio (1951)

NEW!

Coronado 15RA38-43-8236A Clock Radio (1951)

The model number for this Coronado clock radio by way of Gamble-Skogmo, Inc. is one of the longest I've ever seen for such a small radio! None the less, it's a beautiful cream colored Plaskon that you don't see very often! It has been electronically reconditioned, aligned with paper capacitors replaced along with electrolytics and out of tolerance resistors. The Telechron clock keeps good time and the functions work as they should. The tubes check out strong and a new power cord has been added. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Cream Puff Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 10-1/2"W x 6"H x 5-1/2"D.  $160.00. (0510485)

Airline 84BR-1507 (1948)

NEW!

Airline 84BR-1507 (1948)

Unique and very streamline almost Loewy-esque in design is this Airline from Monkey-Wards back in 1948! A beautiful heavily swirled walnut Bakelite case that glimmers in daylight and shines by dial light at night! The push buttons work! It has been electronically reconditioned and aligned with new paper and electrolytic capacitors and out of tolerance resistors replaced. The five tubes were original, but I had to replace one. I also installed a new power cord! A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Streamline Special!" If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $255.00. (0510484)

Philco 52-940 (1952)

NEW!

Philco 52-940 (1952)

What can I say? These pictures are worth a thousand words! They're my best sales person! A brown, bold and beautiful swirled Philco Bakelite sunburst! Stunning! I do have a question, however: why is it that almost every antique radio whether it's a table model, portable or console at some point in the past was close to where folks were painting? Drop cloths must not have been invented until the sixties! Anyway, this beauty has been electronically reconditioned and aligned. It's a player, alright! The six tubes are strong. There is an external antenna for greater sensitivity and, the tube layout is on the bottom. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Sunshine Special!" If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $230.00. (0510483)

Bendix 55P3U (1949)

Bendix 55P3U (1949)

Soft and smooth are the lines best used to describe this beautiful, heavily swirled chocolate brown Bakelite Bendix. Yeah, a lot of B's and a "run on" sentence, too. I know better, but it's just too darn hard to give this stunning radio its just due without running off at the mouth! Electronically reconditioned, aligned, capacitors (paper/'lytics) replaced, out of tolerance resistors replaced. It's a keeper and a player! Tube layout on the bottom with external antenna for greater station sensitivity. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Bad Grammar" Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 12"W x 7-1/4"H x 7-3/8"D.  $225.00. (0510482)

Arvin 451TL (1950)

Arvin 451TL (1950)

If ya' have a sweet tooth and like licorice this magnificent Arvin is just about as close as you can get to it in a radio! An ebony Bakelite beauty that shines to beat the band and, the dial light is like adding whitewalls to a black '57 Chevy! I have added a new power cord and the tube layout is in good shape on the bottom. It has been electronically reconditioned, aligned with new capacitors and out of tolerance resistors replaced! There's an external antenna for greater station sensitivity. She's ready to Rock 'n Roll! Oh man, it's a Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Slam Dunk!" If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $225.00. (0510480)

Philco 52-542 (1952)

Philco 52-542 (1952)

When you hear the phone ring don't try to answer it with this beautiful ebony Philco! Huh? Well, this incredible radio is made from the same Bakelite/plastic-type resin, Phenolic, that the old phones were made of! Remember the old black one your family had that was in the hallway? And, it's every bit as shiny! Absolutely stunning and in fabulous condition! It has been electronically reconditioned, aligned with out of tolerance resistors replaced and all caps (paper and electrolytics) replaced. The tube layout is on the bottom and all five tubes are strong! A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Ring-a-ding Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 11-1/2"W x 7"H x 8"D.  $225.00. (0510479)

Setchell Carlson 416 (1946)

Setchell Carlson 416 (1946)

Houston, we have two very small hairlines! I guess it's tough not to have a hairline when you're a beautiful ivory Plaskon Setchell Carlson from 1946! One of them is just to the right of the on/off knob 'bout 1 o'clock while the other is at the left bottom curve. Please see pictures. This beauty has been electronically reconditioned, aligned with new capacitors n' outta whack resistors replaced. It plays very well with an external antenna connection for greater sensitivity. All five tubes are strong! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 9-3/4"W x 7"H x 6-1/4"D.  $120.00. (0510471)

Truetone D-3465 Portable (1954)

Truetone D-3465 Portable (1954)

Call me crazy, but I've made a concentrated effort of late to prepare mostly portable-type radios. You know, summer, beach, warm weather, etc.! Purpose: Run off the evil demons of winter! This beautiful faux leather Truetone is working...literally and figuratively! It's over 60 degrees, the sun is out and this portable is ready for summer! Electronically reconditioned, aligned with resistors checked for tolerance. All five tubes are strong. Plays like a champ! A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Where's Frankie Avalon Special." If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 11-1/2"W x 9-1/2"H x 5-1/2"D.  $155.00. (0510470)

Motorola 52X-13U (1952)

Motorola 52X-13U (1952)

Call this Motorola maroon or call it burgundy either way you'll be correct! It's certainly in the red family for sure. You don't see model and color very often! A little wear up there on the very top left side corner, but like I say, "It adds character!" It has been electronically reconditioned, aligned and resistors checked for tolerance. A new power cord has been added, too. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Simply Red Special!" It's as good as his music! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 12-3/4"W x 6-1/4"H x 6-1/2"D.  $180.00. (0510469)

Packard Bell 5R1 (1957)

Packard Bell 5R1 (1957)

An ebony Bakelite body that's so darn shiny you could probably shave in it. It's kinda hard to get good angles when taking pictures of it. The knobs are original, of course, with a slight hairline to add character from years of sitting and being beautiful! Electronically reconditioned aligned and resistors checked for tolerance. Outta whack ones replaced. Simple. The five tubes are strong and the cord is in good shape, too. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Shave n' a Haircut Special!" If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 9"W x 6"H x 4-3/4"D.  $130.00. (0510467)

Arvin 444AM (1947)

Arvin 444AM (1947)

What we have here is somewhat of an anomaly. First off, it's in great condition! It's an original factory paint four-tube white metal Arvin Midget! Yeah, a 444AM (duh?) and, it has the small/miniature tubes that do the same thing those big'uns do 'cept they're smaller! It has a 20' hank of antenna and it plays lover-lee! Electronically reconditioned, aligned and gone over with a fine tooth comb! The tube layout is in great shape on the bottom! Yes sir, it's a Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "AM Special." Yeah, for AM! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 6-1/2"W x 5-1/4"H x 4"D.  $150.00. (0510465)

Emerson 636A (1950)

Emerson 636A (1950)

From a Tambour door to Polystyrene plastic! That's antique radio jargon don't 'cha know! Yep, a whole new language! Another example of designer Ray Loewy's genius is in this Burgundy/Cranberry Emerson! Just so hip for 1950! It has been electronically reconditioned and aligned. Plays like Ray! A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Polystyrene Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 8-1/2"W x 6"H x 6-1/4"D.  $175.00. (0510461)

Delco R-1235 (1946)

Delco R-1235 (1946)

Yes sir, it's a bone-fide keeper! Love these heavily brown swirled Bakelite Delco's, 'specially when they're in such wonderful condition! A true peach in the "land of belles!" This Delco has been electronically reconditioned, aligned and resistors checked! Plays well! The six tubes are strong with the tube layout on the bottom! A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Bone-Fi-dee Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $185.00. (0510459)

Sentinel 309W (1947)

Sentinel 309W (1947)

We've all read the heralded novel by Charlie Dickens, "A Tale of Two Cities." Jim Dennis is writing about this beautiful little brown Bakelite Sentinel radio and calling is A Tale of Two Nuts. The one nut is behind the on/off knob that secures the chassis to the Bakelite case and the other nut was the idiot who tightened it too tight back in the day and put an ever so slight hairline at that location. Unlike Two Cities - Two Nuts is non-fiction. Electronically reconditioned, aligned and resistors checked for tolerance. Plays good! Tubes are strong and the layout is in good shape on the bottom. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Mixed Nuts Special!" If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $165.00. (0510454)

General Electric Radio

General Electric Radio

Remember the magazine ad with the tiny Chihuahua in the cup back in the day? You could buy the little guy and give it a home. It looked so sad. Well, this GE is kind of like that Chihuahua. I researched hundreds and hundreds of GE radio records and schematics with no evidence of it ever having a GE home. Some with similar chassis and tube allocation, but no concrete evidence of a model number. Who cares? It is a beautiful Bakelite GE for certain and it plays great! I'd guess 1947 or 1948. Electronically reconditioned and aligned! The tubes are strong. Plays wonderful! A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Mystery Radio Special!" If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 10"W x 6-1/4"H x 6"D.  $175.00. (0510450)

Arvin 502 (1939)

Arvin 502 (1939)

I've been called a lot of things, but never "a mottled metal midget." This is a black and brown Arvin from way back in the day when folks didn't know from mottled. Now, it's a finish in any paint store. The paint job on this critter has stood the test of time remarkably well with minimal metal-aged blemishes. Factory painted by Arvin folks that knew what they were doing. It plays great and even better with that external antenna. Like me, very sensitive! Electronically reconditioned. The five tubes are strong. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Circus Side-Show Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 7-1/2"W x 5-1/4"H x 4-3/4"D.  $200.00. (0510449)

Motorola 5H11U (1950)

Motorola 5H11U (1950)

Yep, the ol' Aero-Vane High Efficiency Antenna is back! This time it enhances the reception on this beautiful chocolate brown Bakelite Motorola 5H! Very cool! Simple, yet elegant! It has been electronically reconditioned and aligned. The case is in wonderful condition! The tubes checkout good and the layout is on the back with the Aero-Vane statement. It's all good! Another Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Slings & Arrows Special!" I know, I'm reaching. If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $175.00. (0510442)

Trav-Ler 5015 (1948)

Trav-Ler 5015 (1948)

Finally, a cream puff that ain't filling or fattening! A beautiful white/ivory Bakelite Trav-Ler that's ready to be enjoyed with no bad vices attached! A few nicks that have been touched up by yours truly. Electronically reconditioned and aligned. Tubes are good! There is an external antenna for added sensitivity and, boy does it work good! A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" Baker's Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know.  $175.00. (0510429)

DeWald JD-519 (1947)

DeWald JD-519 (1947)

DeWald made about a half dozen different models all looking pretty much the same sans knobs, station frequency numbers colors, etc. The JD version has another change: a 50C5 Power Amp tube, not a 50B5 that most other models had. One thing DeWald did get right - "JD" and, as in JD's "Scale of Beauty" this ivory plastic beauty is a keeper! It's been electronically reconditioned and I've added a little extra antenna for more sensitive reception. And, yes, all five tubes check out strong! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 9"W x 5-1/2"H x 5"D.  $110.00. (0510396)

Silvertone 8004 (1949)

Silvertone 8004 (1949)

Well, this lil' guy ain't #1 and, not only that, it's way down on the Silvertone #'s list at 8004. And, it's a year older? Go figure. This factory painted ivory Silvertone is in a metal case, of course, and has withstood the test of time quite nicely! Electronically reconditioned with the four tubes testing strong. Someone back in the day fashioned a back to hold the hank of antenna for improved reception nice idea. The tube layout is on the bottom and the schematic is on the inside of the case. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" heavy-metal rocker! If you'd like additional pics please let me know.  $130.00. (0510386)

Temple G-513 (1947)

Temple G-513 (1947)

Okay, picture this...the Temple engineers back in '47 saying, "Let's make this ivory Plaskon G-513 without a dial cover! Nobody has thought of that yet!" Splendid! And, so they did! Ain't it gorgeous! How they've survived I don't have a clue. Yep, it's been electronically reconditioned, aligned and plays wonderfully! The tubes are strong and I've added a new power cord. The tube layout is on the bottom. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" rarity! If you'd like additional pics please let me know.  $225.00. (0510383)

Trav-Ler 5056 (1950)

Trav-Ler 5056 (1950)

Petite Fleur! This is a little flower of a radio. Yep, it retains its 100% original Bakelite factory ivory paint job done by the Trav-Ler folks back in the day! The four tubes were original, but I had to replace one when I was doing the electronic tuning and alignment. Plays good and has about thirty-five feet of extended antenna that was a factory install, too. A Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty 10+!" If you'd like additional pictures, please let me know. 7"W x 5"H x 4-1/2"D.  $150.00. (0510344)

Trav-Ler 5054 (1947)

Trav-Ler 5054 (1947)

Small is an understatement. The brown Bakelite case has beautiful swirled markings. The four tubes check out strong! Incredible sound for such a little radio! It has been electronically restored with new filter and electrolytic capacitors while resistors were checked for tolerance. There is an antenna hook up on the back for pure listening enjoyment! The original cord is in good condition and the back is like new! The label on the bottom is intact to show Model 5054. It's a wonderful little radio! Mint! If you'd like additional pics please let me know. 6-3/4"W x 4-3/4"H x 4-1/2"D. $160.  $160.00. (0510263)
