|Al started repairing radios 1946 while in
high school. Retiring, after 33 years in aerospace electrical and avionics
design in 1986, he got back into radio restoration and collecting.
Altogether he has restored, sold and collected many vintage radios.
All electrolytic and paper capacitors are replaced along with any other
faulty or out-of-tolerance parts including tubes.. RF and IF circuits are
aligned to provide peak performance and accurate tuning. Dials, dial
mechanisms, knobs, power cords, and grille cloth are repaired or replaced
His electronic repairs will provide many more hours of radio listening
pleasure and cabinets are repaired and refinished as necessary to provide
a good looking addition to your home or office.

Remler 5500 "Scottie Pup" (1947)
Cute, sought after Remler radio from San Francisco manufacturer. Remler company was named for Elmer T. Cunningham (first name backwards with an r on the end). They made various wireless items starting in 1918. Later they made "Cunningham" vacuum tubes. About 1929 they started a radio line. This is a five-tube AC-DC AM set. Restored to excellent operating condition by replacing all paper and electrolytic caps and tubes and other components as needed. RF and IF circuits were aligned and the power cord and plug were replaced for safety. Will give years of listening pleasure for your home or office. Will be carefully packed for safe shipping. General Electric 401 (1950)
AM radio in Plaskon case painted red. Features "Dial Beam" tuning where a spotlite follows the pointer dial. Plays well after restoration including replacement of paper and electrolytic caps and needed tubes and components. Will be carefully packed to ensure safe shipment.
