Zenith 5-S-218 "Cube" (1937)

NEW!

Zenith 5-S-218 "Cube" (1937)

This radio is commonly known as the "cube" because of its shape. It is one of the round Zenith "Black Dial" radios and has two bands: Standard Broadcast AM and Shortwave. The pointer is brass and has the distinctive "Z" in the center. The knobs are original and have the "lightning bolt Z" carved into them. The knob on the lower left is the on/off volume control. The center knob is tuning. The right-hand knob is the band switch and tone control. The grille cloth appears to be original. When plugged in the dial lights up but the radio does not pull in any stations. The radio is quite heavy, weighing over 15 lbs. 12"W x 10-1/2"H x 9"D.  $175.00. (0710046)
