I will accept personal checks and money orders and of course the check would have to clear before sending the radio to the buyer.  I will use USPS to ship unless buyer wants to pay for other method.  I will pack the radio extremely well in a box much larger than the radio to assure there will be no damage.  I strive to describe any and all defects the radio has, and if it is working or not, but as most transistor radio collectors are aware, they can be somewhat delicate.  I do not do a lot of work on the radios I sell, only minor fixes.

Continental TR-200 (1959)

Continental TR-200 (1959)

This six-transistor AM radio was made in Japan in 1959, marketed and branded by Continental. It has Toshiba transistors and a Sharp speaker! It has a very attractive reverse painted gold tuning area and shiny grille. There is a small mark on the top right and on the bottom a tiny chip on the earphone jack area. There are no other chips or cracks. The earphone jack is very unusual, I have not seen another one like it. The radio makes hissing sound when powered up, but will not receive a station. It comes with a leather carrying case in excellent condition. 4"H x 2-1/4"W x 1-1/4"D. $100.00. (1910018)

Coronado RA50-9902

Coronado RA50-9902

Coronado horizontal six-transistor AM radio made in Japan in 1960 by the Hayakawa Electric Co, better known as Sharp. Coronado radios were sold at the Gamble-Skogmo stores in Minnesota. This is a very clean example with no cracks or chips or even scratches. It has the reverse painted tuning area all across the top. It works, but is very touchy and sometimes hard to tune in stations. It comes with a fantastic glove leather carrying case, which has a zipper closure. It is in the original box with operating instructions. $125.00. (1910008)

Coronet Boys Radio

Coronet Boys Radio

The Coronet Boys' Radio comes with the original box and the vinyl carrying case. It was made in Japan in 1960. The Boys' radios have only two transistors and so this one does work but it has very limited performance. This radio has not cracks or chips. It has the reverse painted tuning area and is very attractive. 4"H x 2-1/2"W x 1-1/4"D. $75.00. (1910006)

Firestone 4C-48 (1960)

Firestone 4C-48 (1960)

The Air Chief radios were sold at the Firestone Tire stores. This eight-transistor AM radio was made in Japan in 1960. It has the reverse painted tuning area and has no cracks or chips. The grille is slightly pushed in a bit. It takes two "AA" batteries but it does not receive any stations; when turned on all that is heard is noise. It does come with a leather carrying case in excellent condition. 4-1/4"H x 2-3/4"W x 1-1/4"D. $90.00. (1910010)

General Electric 677

General Electric 677

This is the very first transistor radio made by General Electric. This five-transistor AM radio was produced in the USA in 1955, so it was made just a year later than the first transistor radio, which was made by Regency. It has no chips or cracks, only wear is on the tuning dial. I have no idea if it works, since it uses a long obsolete battery I have never seen. 5-1/2"W x 3-1/8"H x 1-1/2"D. $125.00. (1910007)

Global GR-711

Global GR-711

Excellent condition Global six-transistor AM radio in the original box with paper work. It plays well with full volume with standard 9 volt battery. Has the wire stand that also works as a carrying handle. Reverse painted tuning dial and area. There are no cracks or chips. The carrying case and earphone case are like new. 3-3/4"H x 2-3/4"W x 1"D. $150.00. (1910005)

Harlie TR 661 (1958)

Harlie TR 661 (1958)

This Harlie six-transistor AM radio was produced in Japan in 1958. It plays very well on the standard 9 volt battery. It has the wire stand which doubles as a carrying handle. I has one tiny chip on the top left where the back and front meet. No other damage. It comes with a perfect top grain cowhide case which also has the separate case for an earphone. 3-3/4"H x 2-1/2"W x 1-1/4"D. $90.00. (1910013)

Hitachi TH-666 (1959)

Hitachi TH-666 (1959)

Hitachi produced this small six-transistor AM radio in 1959. The optional speaker box increases the volume and improves the tone when the radio is plugged into it. The radio works with or without the speaker box. The radio has the beautiful reverse painted tuning area, and is unusual for this era, since there are no Civil Defense marks on the tuning dial. The radio is in very good condition, the only defect is a small chip near the earphone jack on the top. 4"W x 2-1/2"H x 1-1/8"D. $175.00. (1910002)

Holiday M6M (1960)

Holiday M6M (1960)

Beautiful horizontal oriented six-transistor AM radio with reverse painted dial. It was made in Japan but I have never been able to find out its mfg. date, but from the chassis and appearance it is likely about 1960. It has very shiny green plastic that is thicker than average. It works great with full volume and uses a standard 9 volt battery. The attractive emblem on the front has an "A" which probably stands for Alpha, since there is an identical M6M model I have seen which is branded Alpha on front instead of Holiday. The radio is in excellent condition with just a tiny crack on the back at the top left. It comes with original leather case in very good condition. 4-1/4"W x 2-7/8"H x 1-1/4"D. $125.00. (1910004)

Kalimar 6TP-430

Kalimar 6TP-430

Extremely small (3"H x 2-1/4"W x 7/8"D) six-transistor AM radio made by Toshiba. It uses three small "N" size 1.5 volt batteries which I do not have, so I don't know if it works. It does not have any cracks or chips. It comes with the original box and paperwork, and a leather carrying case and earphone case in excellent condition. $125.00. (1910016)

Magnavox AM023 (1958)

Magnavox AM023 (1958)

This is one of Magnavox's earliest transistor radios, produced in Japan in 1958. It has the reverse painted dial, and is made of an extra thick and shiny cream color plastic. It does work well with the standard 9 volt battery. It does have a tight hairline crack at the top left, which is not very visible from the front. There are no other cracks or chips. It comes with a leather carrying case in excellent condition, which also holds an external telescoping antenna, which can be screwed into a jack on top of the radio. 4-1/2"H x 2-1/2"W x 1-1/4"D. $100.00. (1910012)

Nipco Hi-Fi 8 (1959)

Nipco Hi-Fi 8 (1959)

Nicknamed the "Jet" for the design on the front, copied from an earlier radio made by Motorola. This horizontal eight-transistor AM was made in 1959 in Japan and still has an older style tuner. It works very well with four "AA" batteries. It has the wire stand which doubles as a carrying handle. There are no cracks or chips only some minor scratches. $90.00. (1910009)

Realtone TR-1088 (1962)

Realtone TR-1088 (1962)

This Realtone eight-transistor AM radio was produced in Japan in 1962. It has a classic style very popular with collectors. It sounds great with full volume and uses a standard 9 volt battery. It has no cracks or chips, only a few minor scratches on one side. It has the kickstand in back. It comes with a leather case in decent shape but is missing strap and some stitching. 4-1/2"H x 2-3/4"W x 1-1/4"D. $150.00. (1910003)

Toshiba 6TP-31

Toshiba 6TP-31

This is the famous "Bathroom Scale" model produced by Toshiba in 1963. It has no cracks or chips but does have some discoloration on the back and sides. It has the functional kickstand on the back. It does work although only low volume. Comes with an original case which is not in great shape. 4-1/2"H x 2-3/4"W x 1-1/4"D. $150.00. (1910001)

Zenith Royal 500E (1960)

Zenith Royal 500E (1960)

The great sounding eight-transistor AM Zenith Royal 500E was made in the USA in 1960. It has strong reception and works on four "AA" 1.5 volt batteries. It has the swing wire stand/carrying handle. It has no cracks or chips, only some scratches and wear near the volume dial, plus someone etched their ID # on the top of the case. About 5-3/4"H x 3-1/2"W x 1-1/2"D $90.00. (1910017)

Zephyr AR-600 (1958)

Zephyr AR-600 (1958)

This six-transistor AM radio was made in Japan in 1958. It is unusual in that the reverse painted tuning dial is on the top. It also has reverse painted section in the upper front, and an unusual design on the grille. It works good with the standard 9 volt battery. It does have a chip on the top near the earphone jack, which is quite common on this model. No other chips or cracks. It comes with a very nice leather carrying case. 4"H x 2-1/2"W x 1-1/4"D. $150.00. (1910011)

Zephyr GR-3T6 (1962)

Zephyr GR-3T6 (1962)

This six-transistor AM radio was supposedly made in Japan in 1962, from one of the resource books I have, but it certainly looks and feels older. It has the reverse painted tuning area, and both the tuning and volume controls are at the top of front. It does not pick up any stations, only has a hissing sound when powered up. It is in perfect condition, no chips or cracks or significant scratches. It comes with a leather carrying case in excellent condition also. 3-7/8"H x 2-1/4"W x 1-3/8"D. $100.00. (1910015)
